“Get Dolled Up” Cake

My daughter absolutely loves the “Brownie & Pearl” series of books by Cynthia Rylant.  Her favorite one has to be “Brownie & Pearl Get Dolled Up”.  What little girl doesn’t love to get dolled up?  Since we started reading this book, I find my little princess getting in to my makeup brushes any time she can.

This past weekend, I surprised her with a “Brownie & Pearl Get Dolled Up” cake, complete with candy pearls, a feather boa, compact mirror, hairbrush and lipstick.  I love that the drawings in the book are so simple to replicate, especially the feather boa.  The hairbrush, lipstick, and compact case were made out of modeling chocolate, which was quite easy to do.  Just follow these instructions.  I then cut a foil circle to place over the compact case to resemble a mirror.

An easy cake for any little girl who likes to get dolled up!
